What is a Nutritionist?

Simply put, a Nutritionist helps people to use food to improve health and prevent and manage disease.
We aim to identify the root cause of illness and through support and guidance on dietary choices, meal planning, and nutritional supplements we can promote health, prevent or manage various health conditions and bring the body back into homeostasis.

Our role includes discussing current eating habits, identifying areas for improvement, setting realistic goals, and providing ongoing support and motivation.

Additionally, we address lifestyle and environmental factors influencing wellness, and utilise functional testing and supplemental support if needed.

We are an evidenced based field and stay updated on the latest nutritional research and developments for provide accurate and current information for our clients.

What to expect at your appointment.

Your initial nutrition consultation is a comprehensive session whereupon a thorough case history, family and medical history is taken, as well as an extensive diet and lifestyle analysis. This holistic approach ensures all areas of your life that influence your wellbeing are addressed. Based on this information, I will formulate a personalised treatment plan including functional and pathology testing and supplementation if needed.

Our consultations can be conducted either face to face or via telehealth (online) and are completely confidential.

What is functional testing?

Functional medicine practitioners often rely on a variety of specialised tests to gain insights into a person's health beyond what traditional medical assessments may reveal. These tests can include analyses of blood, urine, saliva and stool. By examining biomarkers and physiological markers, I can then aim to identify imbalances, deficiencies, toxicities, and other factors that may contribute to a person's health concerns. This holistic approach allows me to tailor treatments and interventions to address the root causes of illness and support overall wellness.
